Our last 2 week of wanderings !

We have done a little exploring the last 2 weeks so here are the updates!

One of the first towns we got to visit is called Wells! The towns and villages here are SO CHARMING ! You feel like you are wondering the streets of a fairy tale! Our trainers (the Lukes, who we replaced) and an amazing couple (the Tuttons) met us in the city of Wells for dinner. Delightful company and a beautiful place to meander in a cathedral and the Wells city center.

Look at that architecture !

This is thought to be the 2nd oldest working clock in the world.
Dating from 1390, it still has its original dial

We visited Exeter, which is a college town, so loads of young adults. A couple of people had recommended a suit tailor down in Exeter, so luckily,  we found the little tiny door that lead upstairs to an amazing tailor that had Tonys trousers tailored within an hour!

Exeter also has a cathedral... (what city, town, village doesn't have a cathedral over here..? !)   You will all be sick of cathedral pictures by the end of our 18 months!

Before the Lukes left, they took us to one of their favorite beaches called Kilve Beach. It is part of the Jurassic Coastline of England. Here, the Lukes showed us how to look for "Devils Toe Nails",  which are an extinct species of oysters that have become fossilized !  The Lukes are professionals and found 8 of them, while Tony scored 1...

Fossilized crustacean of some kind

Doesn't this look like the Devils Toe Nails?!

Our 1st pday here,  the Lukes took us to Breans Down!  It was a great little coastline walking trail out to a military fort.

There are wild blackberries ALL OVER THE PLACE !

Elder De Guzman & Elder Bateman

Another Pday outting was to a small beach front town called Weston Super Mare.  The Sister missionaries get to live here- They are so lucky!

Taunton District football fun!

Sis Afualo (a rugby player from New Zealand) , Sis LagiLagi (a volleyball player from Fiji)
Elder Bateman from UT, Elder Lee from Utah

A round of kickball Elders vs the Sisters..... no need to guess who won...   :(

on their way back from checking out how far they could go before reachng quick sand/mud
That land mass in the right background is Wales.

And finally - our down town Taunton!  We actually feel very lucky to have landed here in Taunton!
Its a mid size town that has everything we need.  Although, we do have to go to multiple grocery stores, as the closest one doesn't have everything we need.  We are getting very good at Amazon UK !!

The city park (Vivary Park) at the end of  Tauntons "main street".  Which in England, a main street is called High Street in every town.

Pictures of the walking path that is 500 yards out our front door.

In other news, Tony has been called as the ward clerk.  We have taught 3 lessons together with the Elders. Most of the people we are teaching are from other countries- we have 2 from Nigeria and 1 family from Pakistan. In fact, the last 2 bishops in this ward have been from Nigeria. We have about 50 people attending on Sundays with about 250 listed on the ward records. We have a lot of work to do!

One of our tasks is that we get to clean the church every Thursday with a super star, energizer bunny, bishopric member by the name of Andy!  He is every where, doing every thing for every body! He makes me exhausted just hearing what he is up to each day !

And the ward recently held a BBQ with the bounce house in the "chapel" ! Really, it could be a flex space, so any thing could really happen in this room! Love it- haha !

Cheers until the next report !
