Mission week 1 accomplished!

 Aug 19-26th

Woza - what can you say about a week in the Provo MTC?!  Well, let me tell you that the first 10 minutes of stepping into that cafeteria with a thousand (I really don't know how many) missionaries all trying to eat a meal, is just something !

We were greeted by a handful of cheering missionnaries (on the "Sr" side of campus, no underground drop off for us) to which they then quickly had our bags unloaded and on a cart off to our new accomodations! We got setteled into our basic hotel room suite at the MTC and had a quick tour around the facilities on the grand 3rd floor and then off to that big, wide world of the MTC cafeteria! And the chocolate milk is as good as everyone said it was !!

We then had a meeting with the MTC presidency and we all got to introduce ourselves & where we were all going. There were about 5 couples from kaysville, farmington & Fruit Heights! There were about 30-35 couples and some single sisters that made up our incoming group. This campus is Provo is so beautiful, electric and like no other place I've been before!

We were in a district of all MLS (mission leader support) couples and it was so great getting to know them!

with our sister trainers: Sis Gina & Sis Garrison

There's us (going to England), The Glenns from Park City going to Montreal, our trainer Bro Thomas, the Sterzers going to Toronto, The Ormsby's from TX going to Idaho, and the Weilers going to florida.

We took a week learing how Preach My Gospel is laid out and how to use it, to "friending" another couple from another district, the Jones, and getting to spend time each day getting to know them and sharing lessons with each other - it was so amazing, so touching how quickly you can come to know and love friends literally within days! We hope we can stay life long friends with them!
We also spent time learning technology and a bunch of other stuff!

The week ended with 2 trips to 2 different temples, one visit to Mt Timpanogus, one visit to the Provo City Center.

We stayed for church on Sunday but with our flight not until Monday, we chose to go home Sunday eveing & do laundry and repack for our travel day.
We hit the gound in London on Tues morning at 10am and had a driver load up all 6 suitcases and drive us 2 hours to our mission office in Bristol!

Lastly, in one of the buildings on the MTC campus they have these giant wall size pieces of art that are just INCREDIBLE!  There are 2 on each floor all depicting different stories out of the scriptures! If there is ever an open house tour of this building - you should go just for the art!! This is depicting the Mary & Martha story.
